Where did the songs on the album come from? With this in mind, guitar, violin, flute, harp, assorted gongs, xylophones, bells and percussion instruments were all recorded live by a roomful of talented musicians, and no use was made of synthesizers, samplers or digital sound effects. Our aim from the start of this project has been to try and take an acoustic ‘snapshot’ of a range of songs, tailor-made for young children, as if they were being played right there in the room with your child. ‘Organic music' is simply music that is lovingly composed, arranged, and performed by singers and players who are open and honest about the provenance and purpose of their material. The conductor (perhaps an adult to begin with) signals to each of the players precisely when to enter. Let's make an orchestra! You might want to include the 3 instruments mentioned in the song (bell, drum and flute), but you could also use any everyday object that makes a satisfying sound - such as pots and pans, bottles etc. We are the musicians, listen as we play for youĪ bell. Look there! It’s me!
